I just read TAE's In Memorium about Blair encouraging Jim to talk to the family of one of the men who died on his last mission.  They spend a few days in the man's home town, doing some early morning fishing and being accepted by the locals.

Do you remember a story where Jim has to go on vacation or something and decides to go to Ranier and observe Blair? He spends a couple of days observing the anthropologist in his native habitat with a notebook and everything then some sort of crime occurs?

I am looking for a story where Blair is asked to be a temporary Shaman for a tribe in Africa because their old one died and his apprentice wasn't fully trained yet.  I believe that he was there for a year and that they even had a Professor and his students come to study the tribe and the Professor hated Blair.  Does anyone know where to find this

I vaguely remember a fic where a pair of outsiders were observing Major Crimes, trying to figure out why they were so successful so that it could be duplicated in other departments. Okay, the story is set just after TSbyBS and the guys come home and there is an African warrior in the hall from some tribe Blair studied with.  This guy wants Blair to go to Africa and be the tribes shaman for a year.  Blair goes and both guys have adventures over the year.  Blair ends up coming home with a tattoo of a wolf, a panther and I think ( Read more... )
